FAQ About Holiday Lighting Installation

Can We Choose The Design Of Our Holiday Lighting?

Absolutely! We design lighting plans for each individual customer's needs and wishes. We can, of course, make suggestions and show photos of other projects to give you a better idea of the finished product.

Do You Have Christmas Figurines Available?

No. However, we do offer lighted wreaths in several different sizes and lighted 10-inch commercial-grade garland that can be used on pillars, decks, railings, or fences that gives a very professional look to your display.

Do You Offer Commercial Lighting Services?

Yes, we offer all of our holiday lighting services for residential and commercial locations.

Do You Provide The Lights?

Yes. Paske Holiday Lighting provides all Christmas lighting needs—lights, cords, decorations, and timers to make your display work. Some people have us do all their lighting, and others hire us just to do the roof and high areas and still prefer to do the shrubbery and groundwork themselves.  Whichever you prefer is fine with us.  Basically, you only have to worry about providing us with details of what you expect the display to look like and the payment—and we can take care of the rest.

Do Your Provide Timers?

Yes. We provide simple photoelectric timers, which work for most jobs. For larger or commercial jobs, consider having an electrician install a permanent timer that controls several outlets.

What Color Lights Do You Offer?

Because of the huge inventory of lights Paske Christmas Lighting owns, we have most all colors available. These include—multi, clear (which people also call white), red, green, blue, orange, or specialty combinations of any colors. Also, each of the colors comes either as painted or transparent bulbs.  Note the difference between painted and transparent light bulbs is very noticeable!

One of the best selling points of our business is that each year you are able to choose a different color for your home, and not have to worry about buying new bulbs each year.

What Kind of Lights Do You Use?

In most cases, we use “C-9” LED bulbs. For most trees and shrubbery, we generally use miniature lights.

FAQ About Our Lighting Services

Can I Have My Lights Put Up Early?

Absolutely—we offer our service year-round. If you are open to having your lights hung up in the Fall, we can even discuss a discount.

Can I Leave Up Might Lights After Christmas?

Absolutely—you are welcome to have your lights on as long as you want. Often customers with clear lights prefer to leave them on much longer through the winter season, as they are not closely affiliated with Christmas and give a nice “winter display”.

Some customers want their lights down early and off as soon as Christmas is over. If you have a specific request such as you want your lights down very early after Christmas, or you want them up till the end of winter, tell us when we are writing your estimate and we will make a note on the top of your invoice.

Do not worry if you do not tell us anything about the take-down, we will not forget about you and generally will start removing the lights near the beginning of January and have them all down by the end of January.

Do We Have To Sign A Several Year Contract?

No. You are only obligated to pay us for one season of lighting, which includes take-down.  Most of our customers hire us back year after year—in fact, over 90% of our customers return the following year.

Do You Offer Payment Plans?

Yes, we do offer payment plans.

How Much Does Holiday Lighting Cost?

Our holiday lighting service starts at $5.99/linear foot. This includes the cost of materials, installing, taking down, storing, and routinely replacing the lights, cords, timers, and decorations. Each year, you are able to choose a different color or package—we will do our best to keep you at the same cost each year for a similar display.

How Soon Can We Get Our Lights Installed?

We are committed to installing your Holiday lights ASAP. In most cases, we can have your Holiday Decor installed within 24 - 48 hours.

If One Light Burns Out, Do You Have To Replace Them All?

No, we almost exclusively use “C-9” LED-only bulbs on all of our houses that give a bright and brilliant look. They are not wired in series, so if one were to burn out, the others stay lit. And, many of the miniatures that we use on shrubbery are also wired similarly, so if one bulb comes out of the socket, the others stay lit.

Is There a Warranty?

We stand apart from our competition with a dedicated maintenance team throughout the holiday season.

Should you need it, Paske holiday lighting plans cover:

  • Wind
  • Light bulb outages
  • Other maintenance needs throughout the season

What If I Already Purchased Lighting From Another Company?

Sorry to tell you this, but you have been scammed. In most cases, companies "sell" you lights or any other product and then conveniently remove it and “store them”. They have not sold you anything at all—you are in fact renting them and paying for the service just like you will do with Paske Christmas Lighting. The difference is that we’re honest and tell you that and don’t try to sell you any product at all!

What If I Don't Want Holes or Staples In My House?

In most cases, that’s easy to work around. On probably 75% of new homes, there is a lip or edge on the bottom side of the soffit, the lights clip in here in most cases, and no holes and very few plastic clips are required.

In some homes that are all wood or do not have the lip underneath the soffit, we will have to use staples. We use very small Arrow T-10 or T-15 staples that leave holes that are nearly invisible.

Sometimes to hang wreaths or garlands around an entry we may have to install a small hook.

What Kinds of Payment Do You Accept?

A credit or debit card must be on file.
